Today poor vis and current made diving a chore, but a moon jellyfish for every square yard of water made it impossible. Both of us got stung but Alan got the worse of it. A full suit with a hood would've helped but I gut stung in the face too. The water is too warm for a suit anyways.

glad to see the boat on the water...these jellies are horrible.
what'd you name the boat Dan?
-
Does it need a name? I better start a thread..
-
It is horrible out there with the Jellyfish. they are everywhere. I've been from haulover to elliot key and have not seen a single spot without them. I went out last week and managed to shoot a trigger fish but got stung in the back as I was getting ready to shoot a snapper.

does it "need" one? no, but how can you bless a craft without a name?
i suggest
"in pursuit..."
or
"cherna-sub"
:laughing3: -
I'll submit several dozen names with the expectation that my creativity will be rewarded with a new wetsuit. If not, I will write one final post proclaming my departure from this site and how it actually is intended for the betterment of this forum, then I'll logoff into the queerboard sunset to write spearfishing poetry and shore dive for 10" sheepsheads.
Just saying...

Nice to see the rib on the water,, i have trouble believing a moon jelly could do that.
-
Dan - glad to see the rib is up and running
Rolo - classic!
Steven - my throat looked similar a couple weeks ago from moon jellies, wondering if these traveled around the world from the radiated waters of japan?
-
Maybe some people have a stronger reaction to the jelly sting than others.

Moon Jellyfish Warning--normally moon jellyfish have not been considered dangerous. However, in the last 2 weeks or so, off Miami / Ft. Lauderdale, I have seen at least a dozen diver injuries from moon jellyfish. I would suggest anyone that enters the water with moon jellyfish to wear at least a hooded rash guard and full skin coverage protection of some type AND to have some type of jellyfish sting treatment immediately available.
Hope this helps.Dan and other spearo brothers-- I was hoping that this post on 8-21 would be helpful.
Rolo--we wouldn't expect anything less classic from you bro
Nice to see the Dan boat back in the water sir:thumbsup2:
