    Scott,, sdeisen an me today.
Viz was exactly like I thought it would be after all that wind the last day or so.
The closer we got to land the worse the viz got.
Scott got a nice mutton and sdeisen got a nice hog.
I truned and ran for the 2nd reef and lucked out and could see the top of the second reef and got 1 hog, 1 dog, 1 trigger. 1 black margate and 2 smallish jacks.
Hopefully scott and sdeisen will post up also

  • you said it, viz blew but the sea was so nice and calm.. if only we could get a day here soon where we get both awesome viz and flat seas.
one nice thing about poor viz i think is that the fish let you get closer,,

Today is a perfect yak freedivingspearfishing day.
Me an Jbrewer went out for 1/2 a day.
Jbrewer had dental problems an I snapped an ICE BLADE while swimming on the surface :(
We still managed 1 hog an 4 dogs:thumbsup2:
Todays conditions are PERFECT to yak to the 3rd reef except for our problems an work tonight.
NOAA missed todays forecast by 100% :@

  • yeah,I warned him too....

it amounts largely to a difference in philosphy...I for example like to appear large, I am a big person so being small and invisible is hard, so I play to my strength. Hau likes to minimize his profile underwater and clealry fins add 2 + ft to your size.

personally I feel more comfortable with the extra 90cm of carbon on my 6 :)

plus, I find CF find to suit my finning style very very well and I wont be diving in anything else if I can avoid it....clear carbon fiber, now maybe we can have a discussion :@

    i like to spear fish

  • Sharks tend to bite extremities when they're not sure. Many times when sharks do bite they bite diver's fin tips. It may be a small possibility but in the case of a clear fin I think a shark is more likely to bite your foot or calf. There's nothing wrong with appearing larger most of the time, I get fish. Anyways on an approach/stalk you minimize your profile.

  • If you have you purchase invoice, get nasty with Omer. They MUST replace them. Those fins are covered with 3 year warranty.

Of you are not lucky, write to Omer Italy (in english). They will stand for their shitty products.

A bad day fishing is ALWAYS better than a good day at work.

  • I realize I never post reports here, so... Due to Hau's report yesterday (thank you captain Hau), I did an early dive today and got my limit of lobs. Great viz and calm waters early on. I got two big ones, the pic is one of them. For fish, I only saw baby triggers and hogs... oh well
freakin micromask leaves a scar on my forehead, i lov it
