Interesting. I believe the full length model shark used for the first Jaws movie was 23ft long.

beast of a fish...the article was unclear...did it die in the net or was it caught dead?

Interesting update to the GWS story...
Fishing for great white sharks an alarming new trend in Sea of Cortez
-
Wow this is really messed up! They are targeting them now? Those fish 16-20ft long are 60-100 years old. It's pretty crazy how much man can influence their surrounding environments. I wish I could have seen what the sea o Cortez looked like before humans raped it.

GWS are protected in México, authorities are pretty serious about it. Those Jaws / theet cannot be comercialized around here. Mexican people doesn´t like seeing sharks being offered as commodities; the green people are way too aware of black market shark sellings to make a living out of it. Trust me on this. Mexican laws are really hard these days on things that were too common in the past.

Felipe Galván was my teacher since High school. And still is a good friend of mine. His declarations on this issue are heavily edited, a couple of old pics doesn´t make a fishieries trend"
