Have to trip the excess rubber gasket from the rotary switch on the left, than procure the search light joy stick switch. Gear control lever cover is just sitting loose and needs a 1/16'' trim at the top near the trim switch.
Getting there..but I'm suffering from ''Mission Creep''.

I'm looking forward to Spring.
Its been too long since I hit the water. I need to pay for another fishing license. Its ridiculous the costs of fishing and hunting in this state but that is another topic.

Nice panel. Good to see quality in workmanship.
Do you have photos of the whole boat? I was looking through this yesteday trying to see what it looks like.
Boats are so cool. If I ever stop shrimp farming I'm going to talk Jake into opening Jake and the Old Fart's QUALITY Boat Service. -
Do you have photos of the whole boat?Just this one.:D
Sorry Hank, the boat is still outside on my sons patio area, between the fence and house I can't get far enough away for a full length pic. Shooting to have it moved into the garage within 10 days and will take some pics.

I belt sanded 1/8'' off the ends of the Benett rams as to fit the Minn Kota trim tabs. Next job was to trial fit the ram in the space between the huge scupper port and large SS U-bolt while still maintaining the proper geometry of the ram for static trim plate position, but every thing has a answer in time.....had to angle machine the ram flange a wee bit, but we're good to go. A inboard SS U-bolt goes in the remaining two holes followed be sealant clean up.
Then I uttered the strange words :@ ...well for me any way.;) '' We need 1'' shorter nipples baby''.
Then I mounted, drilled and screwed it. :devil1:Cheers, Don

The boat is upside down right?

Privjet, Don! Ok, I'm finally checking out your thread that I haven't seen in so many months (working long hours). Wahla! Perfectionism at its finest! Progress, too! Water is actually ON the boat. One small step for Thumper, one giant leap for us. I'm just messing with you Don. We'll stick with you to see you get the boat ON the water. Keep up the good work brother!

Finally reached a decision on my hard deck design. K.I.S.S.:D
Back tonight to fill in the details.Cheers, Don
-
The Avon CRRC 4.5 was designed to be air dropped, launched through the surf or deployed from a sub.
As soon as I decided to have electronics and a sit down helm I realized a hard deck would be needed.
Now almost 8 months later, I have only 1 of the Mil spec floorboards of the 3 I need. While I continue looking I will implement my back-up plan, a fiber glassed 5/8 marine ply floor which will get me on the water. The stout roll up floor has 8 bullet proof reinforced D-rings in two rows amidships . The 5/8 glassed ply deck will be secured to the straps through milled slots in the wood in the method below. Ti pins will be slightly recessed into the deck securing the hard deck to the now sub floor. With glassed pads for the console and radar braces, I'm shooting for a deck weight of about 60lbs.
Here is a test with some 1/2'' scrap and a chop stick.:D

Very cool. Why is it so hard to source the mil spec floors?

Very cool. Why is it so hard to source the mil spec floors?
Thumper has a Mil Spec roll up floor, but not the Hard Deck.
This boat is Avon CRRC (UK) and rare in the states, very few of these boats survived being cut up/destroyed.
The Britts and NATO kept a tight lid on them.
The Zodiac FC- 470 is similar, but the floor through ZodiacMilPro is 4k :@.
Many of the surplus hard decks were scraped, when the gov sells FC-470 boats by the container full, some have been ''decommissioned'' with 3 foot cuts though the hull and all presure valves removed or lost, and no floors at all.
The hard floors were only used for some missions. I know of one in Florida that may be for sale in a month.Cheers, Don
