Spearfishing wetsuits by Speardiver

  • Hey guys, just thought I'd mention that I just spied a picture of me wearing some of Dan's gear in an issue of "California Diver." It's the March/Aprill 2011 issue of the magazine, and it has an article on freediving that happens to have a picture of me from the FII course I took. Not that it mentions it in the magazine, but I have the Speardiver Bluewater wetsuit on and I'm using a pair of Speardiver C90 fins as well. While this picture has already made it into two issues of Miami Sports, I was pretty shocked to see it in California Diver today, so I thought I'd share.

  • I just bought a 3mm Speardiver black suit on Saturday and used it for line diving off Fort Lauderdale on Sunday. I'm another satisfied customer. The suit felt great and you can't beat the service.

  • These wetsuits are top of the line like you said back when I purchased it from you Dan. I appreciate the craftsmanship. It feels like I'm diving without a wetsuit at all. Also everyone who has seen the wetsuits say that it looks good. Well If you every get the Reef Wetsuit in XL please let me know or save it for me. I will get it off your rack for sure.

  • My 5mil Speardiver has been comfy even in 54 degree water and is holding up very well after a year of beach diving
and a few boat trips. I dive with 14 lbs app no deeper than 67 FSF so far.

    Cheers, Don

  • Just wanted to add my opinion of the Speardiver 3mm suit. Initially, was not sold on the idea of a freediving specific suit, but after taking the FII class, they harped on the importance of a good suit. My next issue was sizing. I am 6'4", 215 and have monkey-length arms. When the XXL suit arrived, I was wondering if it would even fit.

I finally got a chance to put it to use saturday, and simply put, I was blown away. I cannot believe how well the suit fit and how comfortable I was all day. It was the first time that I wasn't trying to get out of the suit at the first available opportunity.

Thanks Dan for a great product.

  • just an updated review, I have used the suit for about 30 days of full diving and the suit is still BRAND new, cant say the same for my 3mm riffe open cell top.

  • Awesome suits. Can't say enough about them! Like others I am anxiously awaiting the 1.5mm verison (2 piece with hood preferably)

  • I just have to say these suits are awesome. I have a 3mm and it is unbelievably comfortable. Once I put it on to start the day It doenst come off. I can wear it all day. I have seen quite a few different wetsuits and I have yet to see a wetsuit that rivals the quality, for a comparable price.
    Great Product Dan !!!

  • Just got done trying on my new 3mm reversible...couldnt be more stoked with the suit, unless it was a 1.5mm:D Due to the suit being reversible, the elbow and shin padding found on the open cell suits has been ommitted for obvious reasons. A little extra care will have to be used around structure. The loading pad is only on one side but was not the least bit uncomfortable while worn on the inside.

I will provide an updated report after I get a chance to dive with it this weekend.

Very stretchy for a lined suit. Hope Dan decides to proceed with these.

  • My new 3mm suit, it's the first "off the shelf" suit i've bought in a very long time. On land it fit better than any custom suit I've ever had. So far I'm impressed..

  • I have used a lot of suits over the years and these are by far the most comfortable suits I have ever used. I have three of them and all of them are holding up extremely well. The attention to detail and the quality of the workmanship is far superior to to every off the rack suit I have ever owned.

Had a really good day yesterday! The new 3mm reversible is awesome. Every bit as comfortable as the open cell suit, in fact, for me maybe even more so. I ususally start itching bad after a while while wearing open cell suits. I had this suit on for almost 12 hours straight yesterday. On our way back in we had to run through 20 miles of a pretty bad storm. Of course all my clothes got soaked, so I also had to clean the boat, fish, and then drive another hour home in my wetsuit:@ At least the bottom half of it:D

WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE A 1.5MM....cough cough, hm hm hmmm: ^^ I was diving in water temps from 73-76. I was burning up in the 76 and had to constantly flush the suit.

The big cobes were around yesterday...a new personal best for me and perhaps a new catalog pic for Dan:cool2: Blue Steele!

  • Just used my red wetsuit and it feels great.good call on the XL size. The L would've been to tight just like my old suit. Let us know when all the patterns come out for the socks.looking forward to the red.mahalo.

  • I bought a 3mm last fall and wore it all season, an estimated 50 dives in it or so. It's by far the most comfortable suit I've ever worn. The stitching has held up perfectly, and the suit still looks great with only a few wear and tear marks. I've been waiting for the water to get cool enough to wear it again, and it seems it's finally that time. It's in my dive bag and ready to go for tomorrow morning

  • I fell in love with the speardiver suits the first time I tried one on. I started with an all black ninja suit in 3 mm. Super warm and an "all naked sensation " that was allmost kinky to say the least :D

The suit proved its worth over hundreds (probably thousands) of dives in cold water and washed over rocks and heavy sands and gravels. For over three years now the suit is still in perfect shape, but somehow I wanted to aesthetically upgrade to a more appealing hue. When I saw the "predator" suit being offered in the store I thought to myself " Oh baby, that beauty gotta be mine" I immediately wondered how sharp would I probably looked with such a cool design on. So I ordered one and I got it this friday, saturday was imposible to go out, but I went to wet it on sunday. The suit is just awesome, water were at 60° accurately measured with the awesome Aeris f10 v2 computer that I got along the suit, but I felt like if it was summer. All diving mates were jealous looking at the great looking suit. Not only them, a nice sierra mackerel sucumbed to the sheer wild floridian charm of the "predator" ;) and the piercing power of the Speardiver stinger knife, that went through the mack brains like butter. This catch went directly to the ceviche bowl!

The suit is the best suit around and the prices of the store are unbeatable. An the service you got with it is second to none. Freedive Store is the best dealer of the industry hands down.

Thanks Dan for a dream come true!

    I'm a Speardiver, not a freediver

  • Nice wetsuit. I like the colors.
Here's another very happy Speardiver wetsuit owner. Jake tells me, "I don't know dad....I just feel more confident with that suit. It fits really well and ....I'm just more relaxed". I can't argue with him. The prick is killing it. hah.
