New Member Introduction

  • Hi, all.

My name is Jeremy Cole. I wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the community. I'm a free diver from the beautiful port of North Hollywood, California :). You'll also find me out in the kelp off Palos Verdes and Malibu every weekend the wife allows.

I hunt with a pole mounted camera -- nothing against the spear -- I just like photography best. I fell under the spell of the ocean when my dad took me snorkeling as a little kid. My brother and I "graduated" to scuba when I was fifteen -- visions of Thunderball in my head -- but I missed the freedom and grace of free diving and so shed the tank and returned to it again in my 20's and 30's. I've been been at it more seriously for the last three years, refining skills and gear, gaining knowledge and experience.

I hope to learn from this community and contribute whatever I can. I look forward to chatting with all of you online and hopefully meeting some of you out in the water! :thumbsup2:

    Best regards,

    Jeremy

  • Welcome Jeremy, Yes you are a hunter, just not a harvester. I quality image of a fish is a lot harder to bag than the meat. I could shoot a fish in low light and green milky water, but a good image could not be taken until conditions and timing permit.
    Beautiful avatar image.

    Cheers, Don

  • Thanks Dan and Don. I appreciate the welcome.

I enjoyed reading over some of your posts on the finer points of working with metal and the pros and cons of blade lengths. You're knowledgeable guys!

Hope to chat with you more soon.

    Best,

    Jeremy
