Well, I have just realized that I might have a record here. Actually when I catch it was bigger than the former IUSA Record. Then, two month later a bigger one was taken in Brazil.
King Mackerel 64 lb.

I think he meant the combined weight of both those fish.

First the Giant Chub and now the mighty Black Drum tipping the imaginary scale at 35 lbs. Chris Grauer shot one that was over 60 lbs, but he does not post here. Hahahahah!!! My super stealth Pursuit Wetsuit allowed me to stalk this fine sushi grade fish in the irrie green waters of Tampa Bay while dodging hungry Bullsharks.

The rule on those things - you shoot it, you clean it. How many knives did you ruin trying to cut through the scales?

It's strange looking for a saltwater fish. Impressive nevertheless. Is it good eating?

They have a lot of worms and some people don't like that. I think the worms tenderize the meat and give it kind of a nutty flavor:D

I used to catch a bunch in Virginia Beach on the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnels. They get massive over there. 80lbs ++ They are one of the worst fish to eat. Its a toss up between a chub and black drum.

I ate a 16lber I shot in St. Pete. It wasn't as bad as a big spadefish, but there are definitely worms. I found them in the tail. The meat was very firm and the taste was passable, but I suspect that it would degrade very quickly. I'd imagine that a lot of Jacks are worse.

Thanks. I love eating them. Just pan fried whole. Gut them, remove gills and cut off the fins and they are ready. No scaling required. For such a thin fish, they have decent amount of meat.

Lookdowns are among most appreciated panfish in my country. I just love them! They taste very similar to african pompano. White, flaky meat. Almost no bones. Yummy!

Would have never thought so, I'll have to try them sometime. We have quite a few of them around here.

They're unregulated (100# of fish per person category). A 2 pounder must have been the size of a garbage can lid.
