Nice Fish!!! Just curious is there a reason you sensor your avatar but not the other pics you post of yourself? lol
-
I wondered about that myself. Figured it to be some kind of statement, or maybe a remnant of SB induced trauma

Some of the wardens look at these boards. I try to avoid posting pictures of my face in any of the California sections.

Okay got a new record for this thread
http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/5911/86918675.jpg
10.4 lb California Spiny Lobster
I'm hungry! Locally the lobsters were 2.99/lb now they're up to 11.99/lb! I need to get some BUGS!

Went up to NorCal this weekend with Alex and I grabbed a new PB abalone at 9.9 inches, just a hair shy from the 10 inch mark.
The first day I grabbed the biggest ab I could find at 9.25 inches
And the next day Alex nabbed his very first lingcod.
The conditions were very flat. Vis was 20-30ft almost everywhere. You couldn't have asked for better conditions! Through out the trip we picked up even more fish and abalone, but didn't take pictures of everything since we were having too much fun diving.
The last day I jumped in for a solo dive determined to find one last big abalone. I passed this one buy a couple times looking for an even bigger ab. I wanted to find an even bigger one, but when time ran out I knew this guy was the one so I zipped back to his hiding hole and plopped him off the rock. It was a new personal best at 9.9 inches!
So close!

Very nice Ab. I just returned from Sea Ranch the other day. Conditions where really nice.

Nice report and abs Daniel.
Guys, I'm sorry I simply don't have time to keep track of the records in this thread. If someone else wants to update the list please do so.

Killer Buddy...that shell is stunning

Not sure if anyone is keeping up with this but here is my Cobia 66LBS on the scale at snook nook, Shot in Stuart Fl Jan 2012 off the beach
-
Nice fish! What depth were you at?
-
-
Nice, I know it's a thrill to have a fish this size appear on a beach dive.
-
Wow. That must have been exciting.
Did you think he was a shark at first? I only ask because I have had crazy first sight miss id's when I see fish that are "out of place" for my environment

We shoot cobes regularly from that spot so its not really out of place. But I did think it was a shark at first. Viz was 8 to 10 ft and it just swam right by me.
-
That is amazing. A very good shore dive spot indeed
-
Nice cob; it's always great to come across decent-sized fish while shorediving. Here are two from shore and a barracuda from the boat. He was 55 lbs but shown gutted here. The mutton was 22 and I think that the white margate was over 15. Both were shot within 100 yards of my patio.
