I love the look of these fish and wanted to replicate it on to a speargun. I know it is a sin to paint over carbon fibre but I had to try it. I am happy with the outcome.

Looks great! What finishes and steps did u use to achieve a paint job of this quality?
Dude this is just sick! Amazing work on the paint. Is there a reason you still wrapped it in cf if it was going to be painted?
Wow. Stunning!
:thumbsup2: wow!

thank you Khalel.
After vacuum forming the carbon I apply 2 coats of epoxy.
Once cured I sand it 400 wet and dry and clean it thoroughly.
I then airbrush 3 coats of metallic silver.
Then I spray thinned black for the stripes.
Last paint is a thinned translucent Marine Blue, adding multiple coats the to top while feathering the edges to it remains see through and looks 3D.
Last step is to coat with 4 more coats of epoxy, cure and rig.

Cheers Reefchief.
The carbon fibre is a structural member for these guns as it getting thin. The muzzle is 30mm x 30mm and I want to ensure it remains a dependable design.
The carbon fibre also adds protection for the timber, it holds it straight and lets no water get in contact with it.
Only weak points that I have noted is the penetration. these areas have been drilled out and micro-fibred epoxy poured in. This is then drilled into to install the stainless steel.
It seems to work very well with no visible cracking. Time with the test of abuse will tell though.
Beautiful. I wish I could build shit.
Awesome paint job! I bet the pictures don't do it justice!
Beautiful gun and artwork. Don't ever loose that gun or you gonna cry.
