yeah, but flying over to spanish. quick 3 day trip.

3 weeks in a row is what legends are made of. =)

Legends and single dads lol. Have a good trip.

A few friends asked about my set up so I though that I would post some pics. I just used some aluminum bar stock from home depot and bent it around in a vise. Used stainless screws, if I were during it over I would use either flat heads or finish washers. I used a GoPro tripod mount secured w. another SS bolt from HD that I cut the threads to fit.

Is the camera on the sling handle?

Yeah, I have it mounted to my shooter.

    Ben - west end

Lunker - pretty much right on. Mostly 33 +/-, last two clips were 45.

Thanks for the compliments. Shooting the video is fun, I am trying to get my crew set up w/ more GoPro's for better footage. The second person perspective is nice. The fist grouper kicked my ass a litttle and it would have made for some good footage if shot from above like I was able to do on the second black. I also have to upgrade to iLife/Movie 11 so that I can upload the video in HD. It looks amazing on my moniter in full HD. I am using a flat lens for the GoPro.

Hill raiser, what do you mean by "jack up carbon fins"? damage them?

There are a lot of misconceptions about fins in general and carbon fins specifically. In the case of Pursuit carbon fins durability is not an issue. Another one being that carbon will benefit you only if you dive deep. Carbon is great for surface swimming, it's so light and fast you don't get nearly as tired as you would with plastic fins, and we all swim on the surface regardless of how deep we dive. Size 13 foot is not something to be concerned about when it comes to footpockets. If I were to make a footpocket recommendation I'd ask for your actual foot length anyways.

Yeah, I think that the carbon fins will get scratched and beat up unnecessarily during the pool sessions. During the class, there is not much surface swimming or any dynamic apnea. There are some dives in the deep end pool and some rescue swimming. The fins are making contact w/ the sides and bottom of the pool. It's unavoidable. For the purpose of the class (not training) I wouldn't want to be using $350+ fins.

FWIW, I took the FII course last weekend. As far as the students go, the fins were all over the place from Cressi's (me) to C4's. The instructors used different fins for the pool and boat dives. No doubt that the pool training for the class will jack up carbon fins.

Martin was pretty neutral w/ fin recommendations. He talked about what to look for in a fin and foot pocket, but never committed or pushed specific brands.

Personally, I will be switching fins, but not sure to what. I learned that I would benefit from softer fins, but am not sure if I will go fiberglass or carbon. I'm not an 60+ ft hunter and am wouldn't expect the fins to make an immediate difference. I am a little concerned about carbon fins and multi day bahama trips. I have a size 13 foot and am more concerned about the foot pockets than the blades.

I am pretty tall 6'4" and had to swap the suit w them many times. Kim is an awesome dude and was super cool through the whole process. I have the xxxxxl now. And I'm average build at 205. I am long and it gives me a slight wedgie on a duckdive every now and then.

Good info to know. I am 6'5" 205 and have trouble finding well fitting wet suits. If they are long enough for my torso and monkey arms, they are usually a little big tghrough the torso. I may have to bite the bullet at some point and get one of the high $ suits... or lift weights again.

registered here as hill raiser (boat name), but am Lazy Bones on most of the other forums. Leave out of SLI, but dive anywhere form Jupiter to Ft Pierce to the Bahamas depending on season and weather. Mix of freediving and scuba. Much prefer freediving, but some of my spots aren't attainable at my current (or any future) skill level. Will try and drop some reports as trips fall into place. Not really interested in pissing matches.
