Between 3 kids, work, and most particularly the weather, I haven't been out since the first week in January. I am fixing to sell the boat, so I really hadn't anticipated any trips. On a flyer, I took a look at the weekend weather on friday afternoon. Looked like a small wx window on saturday, a couple of phone calls later and trip was on. Busted over to the DMV at lunch to renew my registration and it was on. Forecast worsened a little as the night wore on, but as usual, we decided to do it live. Had a great day. Water clarity was sick.

Both eyes open. That way I can keep an eye on the fish when I miss.

Well I exaggerated a bit, my 1985 Volvo 240 is only 27 years but I plan on driving it until 2015. Mercs from the same era also used vinyl.
Please. The Mercs used "MB Text," not vinyl, LOL.
Get the leather. Much better with wet/damp clothes than fabric. Cloth would be my third choice after leather and vinyl.
My buddy has a Chevy Traverse, pretty nice car that bridges b/w minivan and SUV. That said, my wife's Odyssey is much more useful than my Tahoe

Marco--I recommend Speardiver C90 medium stiffness - Freedive Store.
Same here.

as a kid, I had an old school Island Water Sports t-shirt w/ a nearly identical print.

Thanks guys.
Dan, it's a 7mm or whatever the imperial conversion is. It's a "medium" roughly. I am not a big fan on the really skinny, whippy ones. I think that the heavier ones give up a little range, but that's just my opinion.

After 3 straights months of crummy wx, a window opened up and family/work/wx allowed a trip. Ran across last saturday and trolled for wahoo in the am, jumped in the water in the afternoon. Trolled up a wahoo, shot some hogs and muttons.
Got to try out my Pursuit wetsuit and was blown away by its performance.

Ran over again this past weekend, pretty much a repeat w/ one solid wahoo on the troll, hogs and muttons in the water. Haven't thrown together any footage from this weekend though.

Just wanted to add my opinion of the Speardiver 3mm suit. Initially, was not sold on the idea of a freediving specific suit, but after taking the FII class, they harped on the importance of a good suit. My next issue was sizing. I am 6'4", 215 and have monkey-length arms. When the XXL suit arrived, I was wondering if it would even fit.
I finally got a chance to put it to use saturday, and simply put, I was blown away. I cannot believe how well the suit fit and how comfortable I was all day. It was the first time that I wasn't trying to get out of the suit at the first available opportunity.
Thanks Dan for a great product.

I would love to have a couple beers with Don.
Funny, of all the people I "know" only through forums, Don is at the top of "dudes I'd like to have afew beers with"

It's still hard for me to comprehend the power to do that....always go for a spine shot.;)
Cheers, Don
I agree. That power is staggering. A sword fish could f-you up bigtime.

Dan, will your bag be available by Christmas?
-
That Armour fin bag was designed for Pursuit to my specifications, such as the straps being contoured around the neck area. Then the manufacturing cost turned out to be too high, and I did not want to buy from Armour. The Armour bag should be selling for around $120. Pursuit will be offering the same design with a few improvements, such as more padded material to protect the fins, for around $80.
That will be very nice and well-priced. I like the idea of more padding for the fins. I'd like to see a padded pocket just for a weight belt. As is, I wrap it in my rash guard or wetsuit, depending on the trip.

That bag is very nice Dan. Once I bought the C90's, I got an Amour bag that it very similar. Fits mask, shooter, wetsuit, rash guard, weight belt and still has room.

Mango trees are the most dangerous trees out there, except Robollini palms. You would believe some of the injuries we'd see at Jackson when dudes would fall out of trees during mango season. I do love me some mango though.

Fish-wise, my main concern is that I not maim or "waste" fish. I prefer the stone shot and probably miss at least my fair share as a result of going for head shots on a lot of fish. I do a lot of shooting with a sling and a poorly placed shot can easily result in a maimed fish or the ol' '$35 shot' w. a lost shaft.
I don't worry a whole lot about "suffering" of the fish but do hate losing them. If I have a fish rock up or shake a shaft, I spend a lot looking for the fish. I have passed up lots of nice fish b/c I think it's bad juju to shoot a second fish before the first one is secured.
