Greetings from CA

  • Hi folks. I've been SCUBA diving for about 4 or 5 years now but have had an interest in freediving for at least as long. I live and dive in northern CA. None of my dive buddies are into freediving but I'm ready to take a serious interest. Eventually I'd like to learn to spearfish once I've become comfortable with freediving. So I'd like to hang out on the forum for a while and see what's going on and what you experienced folks have to say.

    Thanks,
    Mark.

  • Welcome and THANK YOU for your service mate,:thumbsup2:
There's a lot of good freedive clubs up there, what is the general area you will be diving?
    Cheers, Don Paul

  • Thanks for the comment, DP. My pleasure.
So far my diving has been mostly variuos beach dives in the Monterey, CA area. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's a great place. Otherwise I've done a little elsewhere vacationing but I live fairly near the Monterey area. Though I'd like to get down to So Cal area, too. I know that there's plenty of freediving going on in CA, I'm just not in that loop yet, which makes it a little hard to get started. In due time, though.

  • Dan,

Things are fixing to go to shit now that you've let a Jarhead in. They just come in and either blow it up, shoot it up or knock it up and leave. ;)

Ya know if you were to put a Marine in a padded room with just two ball bearings , in an hour he'd have broken one and lost the other. It's true.I've seen it.:)

Welcome to the gang, Mark. A little inter-service rivalry there. Maritime Expeditionary Security Det. 132 outta San Diego,USN (R). 14 down, 6 more to go.

Pretty good bunch here. Hell,I like 'em. So, come on in and try not to break anything.:)

  • Aaron,
LOl. Hey, a Squid on a dive forum, go figure. Nah, just messin' with ya. Nice to see you here. :attack2: I'll try to keep the shooting and blowing up to a bare minimum.:attack2: Regarding knocking it up, well I can't make any promises.
