We all know that our right to practice spearfishing is threatened all over the US. Lets not give the people behind the effort weapons against us. All catches depicted in pics must follow the regulations for the region where the fish were taken as far as allowable species and quantities. Quantity must correspond to the number of people in the photo plus one (the person who is taking the photo). If you see a pic that's questionable please send me a pm immediately. Then we will make a courteous effort to educate the poster by pointing them to this thread and the regulations if necessary. All in favor?

Sure does red tide. That looks like a new Spearfishing World cubera record if you care to submit it. Weight, time and place?

All the bast, Don Paul -
I certainly agree. I think that you might not want to allow for the photographer either...it is annoying, but i think that those who would do us harm would not hesitate to take the picture without the explanation and that would defeat this whole measure
just imagine...pic of spearo w/ two people's limit of hogs and the caption, "here a spear poacher proudly shows off his plunder, two people's legal limit. one can be sure this is a regular occurrence for this person and this will lead to the rape of our reefs"
i just think that the safer the better..
also, can non members read past the first post?

Sounds good. Although a lot of my pics are just fish with no diver.

LB, there's a limit to how much I want to cater to the enemy. I hear ya but I think it's logical that the person taking the pic be included in the limit, at least for now.
In the regional sections where most often we post reports and pics non members can only see the first post. I put the pics and stories in the first post except for even a vague location and specific sea conditions, those may go in subsequent posts. I want guests to the forum to see that we're serious about having fun, but not take advantage of the information with regards to location and conditions.
