Here is a great deal on a "full kit"
http://www.jmtackle.com/browse.cfm/2,22.html
Just keep in mind that the knives will have to be fully dry before storing in the pouch, or else they will rust. The 6" stiff fillet knife is not very flexible, and works well for cutting bait, but not much else. I use mine in my kitchen for a utility knife. I prefer the Forschner 6" boning knife as the point is more tapered and the blade is much more flexible. Can also be used to fillet and skin most fish under 10lbs.

2 different knives - but that's really just for big scaled fish. For grouper, lingcod, pelagics, etc... I don't bother with a serrated knife.

With a Tiger Edge you can do pretty much everything. Fillets won't come out beautiful, but is fast and easy.

Here is a hand made fillet knife I built in 1985 from a old Sorenson Steel lumbering saw I found deep in a Connecticut forest when I was a kid. I took me several weeks to forge, shape and heat treat. The images do not show the color in the ab shell very well, the tubes through the handle are Ti. I will take better pictures and post a separate thread on the build in a week. The 56RC 8.5'' blade can be bent 90 degrees, is like a razor and is has only touched fish. I do not let my son or GF touch this blade, it is a bone cutter.

Wow Don, that looks like an apache sword of war. Is absolutely purdy. If you ever come this way I will steer your way to some "Las pocitas" craftsmen who makes some kick ass custom knives.

Funny you should say that, when I was young I read allot about the indigenous people of America.
I would spend days in the woods and some times paint my face with berry ink, clay and ash. My dad thought I was strange, but I always got the biggest and best game. As a child I would make white birch miniature canoes and give them to my friends. Joseph Campell was by hero, a long time student of Indian culture. It's just a matter of time before I get back to La Paz.
