Finally we got the chance to go out last Sunday with Carmelo, Fernando and Manuel, Fernandós friend living in New York.
Water was nice and calm, 100 feet of visibility and very soft current.

Este no es de esta salida, pero es muy curioso; se trata de una barracuda sin cabeza que al parecer se resistía a morir! :o
Wow. Those are mighty snappers and a great batch. Looks like you all had a great day. Congrats!
Marco, your PR snappers always look so well fed. The mackerels, hogs and permit all look like something we can get here. But those snappers.. :thumbsup2: Good to see and wish!
"y no te tires un peo"... "tienes que darle en la cabeza" you guys are funny hope to make it to PR one day.
Wowzers! What area on the island are you spearing from? I've been freediving when I was a super beginner (now I'm just a noob), in Aguadilla. Beautiful structure, great vis, didn't get much more than some small snappers though.
Awesome catch, what depths do you guys get those big ones at?
Jim, are you really a noob? Your two shnappers from Sat are just as good as Marcos! Reminds me of a quote I like from the original iron lady, Golda Meir "Don't be humble... you're not that great" :laughing3:
Marco, those are great fishes, never seen one before (Muttons?) Try some tacos de pescado en mi honor cuando se los coman salúd y provecho...
muy muy buena pesca.i also hope to make it to pr one day it looks like home.
You are all welcome! Just give me a call.
You see? I was inviting Julio and Pucho and they couldn't make it.... Hope next time.
It was out from "La Parguera" 70 feet mostly in an area very close to "La pared", a drop that goes from 100' to 2000'. The moon was the right one (cuarto menguante).
To see the big ones you have to find them. They're not everywhere.
PS: Carmelo is "La sombra"
WTG Marco :thumbsup2: Nice muttons and Dogs

That's a good quote! I'm not a noob, but I always err on the side of caution when in the company of much more experienced people.

Tremenda pesca Marco... Definitivamente cuarto menguante es la luna de los pargos.
Gracias Fernando.
Será para la próxima. Tu tienes mi número.
Why is Carmelo "La Sombra"?
porque es mulato?
hahaha it occurred to me but there's got to be more to it

Tengo tu numero. Te envi'e el mio en el PM. A ver si algun dia podemos planificar una pesquita en tu bote o en el mio.
Saludos.

He is mulato or just "negro", as we say here without false "ethics"....
Additionally, He's earned that nickname because he appears from nowhere to shoot the fish you have been chasing or waiting for.
On this trip, I was in the bottom laying waiting for a cubera I spotted earlier and suddenly a permit showed at my right side. Normally I try to place good shots that ensure not to tear/hurt fish unessesarily, But Carmelo was comming from the surface after MY permit! I had to take a looooong shot. Fortunately it went well and it just the gill plate. We surfaced together laughig our asses off! When we hit the surface, he said "Cabrón!, pá que le tiraste de tan lejos?!" and I said "te lo iba a dejar a ti, mamabicho!?" :laughing3::laughing3:
So the permit is the one in my hand, close to one of my muttons.
