Yeah its hot here also, so the rides are done early in the morning or later in the evening. Glad to hear that you have worked out now.

cww-sorry for the late reply sir.
You are correct, the Cervelo S5 is a very nice bike.
I have two ti bikes, one is my ti road racing bike and the other is my ti tri bike. Both have Dura Ace groupos, so there is only annual maintenance.
I WAS having a rear flat EVERY day. I blamed the heat, extreme high performance tires, too much tire pressure, high performance tubes ,debris on the road, the solid rear Zipp wheel not flexing, rider too fat, etc. Then I switched to the Specalized Armidelo Elite and havn't had a flat since. :thumbsup2:blackbeard--how did your tri sprint go sir?
I love the heat and the sun and the wind and the hills (only hills we have in Ft. Lauderdale is boat bridges ) because it makes my competitors suffer more. :punish: :laughing3:

So do you guys own/ride any other bikes or are they just training/race bikes?
Not trying to stir anything, just asking. I think most folks end up in a less comfortable position, just due to "road geometry".My girlfriend does tris and is gearing up for a half ironman. I'm in the boat of rather having a bike you can actually use for daily use/riding to the city/light touring/realistic use. All her friends seem to be in the boat of having super race bikes. I've actually adjusted/fit her up to a much more comfortable less racey position, where she can actually use the drops, and it's much less of a chore for her now. She used to complain "I don't believe you that there are comfortable road bikes!", now she just rides and smiles....
Just asking.... out here I ride singlespeed mountain bikes, bike commute to work and ride into the city, and I can't get my head around how road bikes don't have tire clearance anymore.
Btw, I ride a Surly crosscheck or an old Raliegh converted to fixed gear on my 10mile (oneway) commute..... I like steel:)

I have a Scott CR1 that is my everything bike. I used to own a mountain bike and the position was uncomfortable to me. I like the road bike, many positions to choose from.

Did my 3th Sprint Triathlon today at Marine Stadium in Key Biscayne.
I lucked out and all except 1 was slower than me so I took second place.
I love Marine Stadium, the whole venue is set up very nice. The swim is in an ocean bay so there is salt water with no waves. You swim out to a bouy, turn 90degrees and swim to a second bouy, turn 90degrees and swim back to shore. Go just 50 steps to the transition area, bike gear up then ride up and over the Rickenbacker Causeway bridge, down to the toll booths and do a U turn and then back up and over the bridge again. The run is the best part, as all but 100 yds of the run is down and back on a 10ft wide black top sidewalk through trees on both sides. The awards ceremony is just 20ft from the water, so many of us stood/floated in the water to watch the ceremony and wait to be called up for our trophies.
I had a girl knock my bike off the rack and lost all my drink fluids, so I went the whole race with only water cup hand ups:angry5: But had another girl give me a gel pack which really helped at about mile 2 of the run. -
Congrats Hau!

Congratulations hau, you're an inspiration. What are the distances for each phase?

Don Paul--thank you for the kind words sir.
I've lost 15lbs in just 6 months of tri training and am up to a 6 mile run every other day. Best part is that I now have a 38yr Russian girl that said, "You look so good now, will you "train me" :reddevil: -
Holy shit, I actually posted pictures
-
Dam Hau....you look like a Greek God coming out of the aqua.. I better get back to the kettle ball..:D
Can't wait to dive with all you guys when I come to visit FL someday.
Cheers, Don -
loving this race season so far. Have been doing very well this year with top 10 finishes in evey race ive done. Just pulled 2nd and 3rd place overall finishs back to back weekends. The only guy i cant catch on the bike leg is 56yr old Phillip Rowan! The guy is a beast and consistantly holds 25-26mph average on any sprint distance 10-22 miles. 56yrs old and im only 24. I Love my trusty Eddy Merckx 1982 steel frame that i built up for a tri bike...will try to post some pics of the bike.

Training for a few international and oylmpic distance events this fall. I just will it would cool off a little bit. It seems the only time i get out of the heat is on my days off when im spearing in 85 degree water. Looking like a possible tropical event might mess up everyones vis for this weekend but at least i will catch some long awaited hurricane swell.
