Do you think that (with proper training) a man could be strong as wire and raw hide, way after 35? I mean muscle mass, and elasticity. Thak you for your input.
Staying fit after 35

Yes. I'm sure you can, but you must include a specific diet to stay fit.
I'm 43 now and I feel stronger than ever. I have been working out every single day since this January 2nd and eating a 5 meal/day low carb / high fiber- protein diet.
I've lost 25 pounds and gained muscular mass. No steroids or shit like that. Just a Centrum every day, sweat, blood and tears.
4 days a week gym, one day I go out for a run, another day I play soccer and one go out spearfishing.
One day a week I eat everything I want (I'm italian and LOVE pasta :)), usually the day I play soccer. When I am fishing, I also eat everything.I will post a picture from one year ago and another recent. You can tell the difference.

PS: I'm not gay at all....

Good for you ,Marco.

Marco,
Good luck.
Looks to me like you are plenty fit to kick some fish ass.
You are in a lot better shape than the fish that come around you.

Marco i really like your diet program. The simple carbs are the real enemy. I try to stay away of bread and sugars. Congratulations

Lol, we`ll soon be bitching about disrespectful youngsters hahahha!! :nono: :old: o ouchh, my knee!!

My diet:
Breakfast: Two boiled eggs or a bowl of oatmeal with fat free milk and sweetener. Coffe with fat free milk and no sugar.
Snack: one protein bar or a glass of protein shake or a can of tuna in water with half lime juice.
Lunch: One BIG portion of protein (beef, chicken, fish, pork), vegetables or salad.
Snack: Half cup of nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc.) or a fat free yogurt or a fruit
Dinner: Same as lunch.
Drink plenty water and/or green tea (I prepare a pitcher and keep it in the refrigerator). The first two weeks try not to drink alcohol, then you can.
You will notice a steady weight loss and a boost of energy after the first week. The principle of this diet is that without the intake of carbohydrates, your body uses your bodyfat as energy source. It works!
Good luck!

I had to say hello being that I'm 38 now. Marco, you also look younger. Good for you. I wish I had the discipline. I've tried several times this year to get back into it and I keep screwing it up. Now with work, it's even worse.
As for staying fit past 40. Hell yes. You lose quickness but gain endurance. -
For me quickness is the same and its the endurance I just can't regain.

Don't think so. That's what the water is for. A gallon a day keeps the doctor away.

After being asked several times in another (spanish) forum, I gave away my "two secrets" to stay fit. I will copy it and paste here (in spanish, I'm sorry).
Jajaja!
Me he quitado 12 Kg y he aumentado masa muscular.

(For the records: Speedos are "legal" in Venezuela)

Excelente post. Keep the good work man. I guess the hard part is to keep motivated.

This is me, i really want to lose some 20 pounds!!

What do you think?!
Of course I do! Not specifically in longer bottom time, which is pretty much the same seconds more, seconds less, but surface recovery time and swimming against current...

My heart rate is also lower and the day after I don't feel destroyed like I usually did.
