    Stuff's getting old. Flat while I work and crap while I am free. :angry5:

  • went out in the boat today seas were easily 3-5', probably closer to 3 in spearfishing depths and 5+ offshore. Just trolled due to the rough conditions and caught a ~50lb sailfish(my first ever) before heading in due to seasick passengers.

  • We released it, we had a cell phone video of the fight and landing/release but for unknown reasons it didn't save. I would've liked to upload it here it was a lot of fun on fairly light rod/reel and 25lb test. unfortunately the video was lost but it was a fun experience even though I'm more of a meat fisherman than a sportfisherman. On a sidenote: Dan what is your preference on where to post H&L fishing stories?

    Good JUJU==
    After consulting the old ones, we have decided that the only way to break this bad weather JUJU is to appease the wind and sea gods. :@
    Sdeisen has graciously offered to provide a virgin from the collage he is attending for a sacrifice to the wind and sea gods (days ago he thought that this was a waste of good virginhood). So seiden, myself and our virgin plan to fly to Hawaii where sdeisen and I will toss the virgin into a volcano. We need your help. Please send your financial contributions to Freedivespearfishing Headquarters ASAP so we can pay for the flight and 5 days in Hawaii. Please remember, this will benefit us all. (especially me and sdeisen)
    :laughing3:

  • you never mentioned if the virgin is female or male :laughing3:

  • spearos--ok, the virgin sacrifice toss went well. Thanks to all that contributed. The virgin sacrifice appeased the wind and sea gods and we were able to spear today for the first time since 10-21-10. :laughing3:

    Today was the first day with my Pursuit 3mm 2pc open cell and it felt GOOD.:cool2:
    Today was not ideal, there were "boxcar" waves on the horizon out in the Gulf Stream. I would have been happy just to be able to get into the water. I did better than I expected, got 4hogs and 2 big chubs. Saw 3-4 ok macs but they all had been shot at before and never gave me a decent shot.

  • sdeisen---thanks for the report :thumbsup2:
    I miss spearin with you :(
    I'm hopin you new spot works out for you and that lots of fish fall to your spear brother :toast:

    Edited once, last by hau ().

  • I went out on my boat friday when seas were 2-4 building to 4-6 as that cold front came through and I saw 3 fully loaded dive boats out, I think it is probably the cold keeping them out right now.
