• Cool, thanks for the feed back guys...just what I was looking for. It's nice to have a small group of friends I can get ideas from. This is the first time I have come to a open table of thoughts on such a personal choice, and I thank you all.

    Cheers, Don

  • I've never been a fan of tattoos, particularly now that it has become so trendy as there seems to be a tattoo palor at every few miles or so in major urban areas. It used to be that tattoos were only prevalent in military veterans, whores and ex-cons. I think George Carlin captures my thoughts fairly well on this issue. Some people out there think that by getting some chinese letters across their biceps, they are instantly infused with some sort of cultured or artistic aura about them when if you translate what they just received from Mandarin, it likely means: I was a wannabe before, but now I'm a wannabe with a tat. I also believe they are a good tool to easily identify you in case you are ever being chased down by the authorities.

I think those that have a gross amount of different tattoos all over their body have real issues. One must have some underlining self-esteem problems to compel them to defile the largest organ of their body. To each their own I guess, but clearly not for moi.

  • Tatoo's aren't bad. I have my ribcage and foot. The part of the process that I find the most painful/annoying is the outline of the image. Once the shading begins it's really not bad at all. Mine are in sensitive areas and it wasn't bad. I can only imagine that a shoulder blade on your back shouldn't be too bad at all.

  • Dan is right...if a first responder gets to you, they work you. It's 'implied consent' ...if you're not able to give consent at that moment they work you under the assumption that any normal person would want to be helped.

  • I have a large number of tattoo's and only plan to get more. I do have underlying problems, but i'm not sure they are self esteem related. :S

George Carlin cracks me up as always. I wish he was still around to comment on the current state of the world.

  • Don i have a bunch of tattoos and will end up with many more! So i say charge it!!!! I did a paper on tattoos and "self mutilation" in college but if tattoos are self mutilation then so is drinking, smoking, and drunk, smokey nights with women of questionable morals. And lord knows I'm not giving that up!!!
