I love hunting Dogs! By far my favorite snapper to shoot. Just like Rolo mentioned, I get most of mine around holes/caves.
Here are some of my favorites
damn G!! those are some beasts....nice shooting

Me 3. The last nice dog that I shot outside of a hole was a $40 shot as it proceeded directly to a labrynth system, never to be seen again.
Nice snappers to those that posted pics
These are some from a big school. Shot near the bottom between 50 and 70 feet. They try to hole up after shooting and do sometimes.
But they'll school again within 15-30 minutes or so if you didn't charge them and spook them. They come up within 20 feet of the surface. One of my favorite sites is the big silver cloud of them in the distance.
wow hank..you are lucky to live and dive in such a special place

I know. I turned down a job offer in Kona Hawaii a few months ago. I told they guy, "I have a big family that would be hard to move.....I'd have to get a bigger more expensive boat....and the spearfishing in Belize is hard to beat. :thumbsup2:
Dog snappers are curious but weary in my experience. If I find a hole that holds a school I try to do aspetto dives at a distance and shoot them as they come to check me out. Sometimes they can be very curious. I don't like charging a hole to shoot them since this will spook every fish in that hole.
nice picture buddehh..
OK Dan.
Where does this go?'
"Hunting cero mackerel in Panama with a 48 inch pneumatic gun and fiberglass fins off a kayak"
Bad ass Hank !!

Probably nowhere, it's hard to load a 120cm pneumatic :atongue:
Hahahaha. Nice one hank. Even better dan
We find them in schools of up to a hundred or so stationary in 1-2 kt current in an open rocky area. So we end up diving up current in time to reach the bottom in front of the school. The fish can either come forward to check you out or you can use the current to try and close the distance.
OBTW, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I can see all images except for Hank. I am trying to upload one of my own for the first time... We'll see if I can figure it out.
None of us can see 'em. Hank got kicked off of Facebook and lost all his pics.
Nice doggy.
Sorry to hear that, and thanks.
Hank is a delinquent. Nobody likes him except us...
Nice pic!

Nice dog.
I used to load my pics on here from Facebook. Just "copy image address" and paste into the box here. Not sure what Facebook did....I still have an account there.....but all those pics changed address or something. I still have all the pics on Facebook though. Weird.
I now download the pics from PhotoBucket.
Sorry about that. I'm kind of bummed because that was about three years worth of journal for me. I would review it to remember what and how we did it.
Pachamama, is that a 25 foot Imemsa you're diving from?
got 3 around this size the past couple weeks, all hiding in little caves
This one had gone out and in several times, and I finally got him by crawling on the bottom out of sight until I was right in front of the cave
Nice, I had to do the same thing with this one. Close to as insteresting as bottom hunting gets I think.
