I spent many days on the anchor right there. The water out front of Balboa yacht club had too much fresh water and would kill our bait. We made anchoveta with a lumpara net, Up near vacamote. Please excuse my Spanish spelling.
I was there for 3 months in 2003 we did 10 day fishing trips out to the island to the north.
