Getting bumped from behind by a silky shark

  • If you look at the bottom of the screen you can see the Wahoo at the beginning of the clip.
22.09.15 Ever been bumped? Focused on a wahoo and suddenly you are shoved hard from behind at 50+... look over your shoulder and there is a shark wrapped up cosy like around you, feel de love brothers and sisters! Eye meets yours and his are clear and open, big sigh of relief. Surface and start a new chum line, this is big boy fishing.
Disclaimer: no wahoo were harmed in the making of this clip although some were mortally injured during this trip :D.

  • What were you thinking when you felt it?

That I was going to die... seriously.
Started looking for blood before i even saw a face full of green flesh, next thing i saw was its eye next to mine, and thats when i mentally sighed because i registered it wasn't hooded... Just tried to relax through the ascent as i had been down maybe 70 at the deepest point of that dive, I was on ascent when it hit me.
Real wake up call when you are all alone, I will focus less on my prey from now in the blue, it will cost me fish doing this, but i will feel a lot better :)

  • Better a Silky than a Tiger. Wonder if it could have been territorial? Or perhaps attracted by all of pink? Glad it only scared the shit out of you and nothing worse.

  • Damn! Surprised you didn't drop a load of your own chum right then and there

Man was I startled! But didnt get a shake till I hit the surface, guess all that time hunting underwater really teaches you to be calm no matter what the F happens :D... When i got back to the chum bag, I did hold my hand out to see if I was shaking, and having delayed shock, but my hand was steady so just tried to still my mind and continue the hunt. Needless to say I was a tad anxious the rest of the day!

  • She's cute....I don't know what your bitchin about:D;) That is common with baited biters. I know where you live you've been bumped before. Grey reef's will bump you real hard then turn right back for a chew. Poke dat bitch.
