I used flasher tape on my fins on a trip a couple seasons back. I instantly had a posse of about 30 cudas following me a little to close for my comfort. Shot a 15 lb rainbow runner and it was instantly ripped to shreds. Shot another a little while later... ripped to shreds again. Stoned an AP and got that one in the boat. Shot another rainbow and ultimately lost my shaft due to the cuda frenzy. After the frenzy there was a huge cuda eyeing me from no more than one ft. away. I didn't no whether to slam him in the head with my empty gun or what. It ended up in a staring contest, and I eventually slowly swam away. Flasher tape came off my fins, and I had a newfound respect for the barracuda. No thanks for wearing flashy crap it's just not worth it.
    PS cudas like rainbow runners.

I wore a friends one time diving in murky 40ft. water. Once I got to the bottom the shark shield cord slowly found it's resting place on the top of my head. It then proceded to shock the sh!t out of me. I'd rather not dive than wear one of those damn things. Later I found out most guys don't actually turn it on until they see a shark, but it's alway the ones you don't see coming you got to worry about so that doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. Def wear a hood when using one!

I went for some shore dives about 3 weeks ago here in NC. Water was 40 something degrees. My face was completely numb so it was hard to put my snorkle in my mouth after coming up from a dive. Vis was 4ft. at best. No fish, but still had a blast.

Nice looking rig Dan. I bet that thang could bring up fish bigger than 50 lbs. I've seen hugely obese tourists getting worked in the shore pound on bodyboards. If they can float a 300 lb person they can probably hold up a big ass fish. My friend Brian made a few really nice tuna boards year before last we just haven't found the tunas. He'll probably get caught with his pants down because 95% of the time he shoots with a reel. Hope your luck is better than ours with finding them.

Thanks guys. I've got a 90cm Freedivers SA railgun rigged with a 3/4 band (bad ass gun by the way) that is my go to gun for the inshore stuff, but it's freekin cumbersome when you crawl inside my favorite wreck. I've also tried a 75cm Sporasub band gun that I would use if a RA shaft would fit in the mech. The shafts it shoots are small and bend super easy plus I've had shots bounce right off of fish's heads with it.

Greekdiver thanks for the advice. Def gonna check the Sten out.

Oh yeah... Just how loud is a pneumatic when fired?:bouncinboobs:

I've been thinking of getting a pneumatic gun for poking fish inside of wrecks. I'm not really sure what size or model to get. I crawl into some pretty tight places. It will mostly be killing big sheepshead and tog at close range, but I'm gonna rig it with a reel in case a cobia swims by. Are pneumatics a huge pain in the arse? Not looking to invest a lot of money, just wanna get something that will work. I know a lot of you florida guys shoot pneumatics so any advice would be great. Thanks guys!:toast:

I've tried to figure out how to do this for the past couple of years. After reading this thread for some reason I tried a few times and can simply do it. I've yet to try it in the water, but I'm pretty confident that I can do it. Thanks guys!:D Stoked!

Why can't I post in any of the other sections? ...Anyways... If you happen to see this Dan, I got a copy of Oahu Still Get Fish! for you. Email me your address and I'll send it to you to check out.

Thanks guys...Don! Holy crap I couldn't imagine swimming at the shoals during a storm. He's one lucky man to have made it back to the beach. Epic story I bet. Take care fellas1
