Speardiver carbon fins roll call

  • sorry to respond so late to this thread, i received a pair of 90's in medium soft with the pathos pockets in april and used them on several trips since then. i also have a pair of c4's and a pair of majestic's which are a highly regarded greek brand, both with omer pockets. imo the pursuits are much more responsive and lighter than the c4's and are as good if not better than the majestics which cost about 500usd.

i also have a pair of fg blades from a famous california distributor that developed a one inch split on the edge after a couple of years, i was looking for another pair of fg's (no i wasn't going to buy from the same distibutor) till i noticed Speardiver were priced just a few bucks more.

i use them for boat diving only and i highly recommend them not only because they are priced right but because they are as good as anything on the market today.

I talk to Dan about my interest in mermaids, 10min's later he is tracing out an image and ploting/cutting it out.

Oh yeah and this is after 3-4hrs of testing and re-testing blades and footpockets to find a perfect combo.

The fins I use before are DiveR Medium. Which translates into a very stiff fin. Which you FEEL. One thing about the DiveR is the power to fight a fish which I put to the test with a big AJ. But then again I plan to stop shooting big fish when I have forgetten to bring the right gear. The proper length of float line a d float.

The Prusuit fins are great for surface swimming. Yes they're softer (M blade in pathos pockets) then the DiveR, but they're moving me along the water faster with less energy. I'm not feeling sore after a dive with the pursuit fin. :thumbsup2:

  • Hey Dan, just wanted you to know I saw the diver you sold the round edge fins to last night at a meeting.
He is very happy with the performance and the low cost of the fins. way to go buddy...making quality
hi end dive gear affordable to all divers. Will post some more pic's of mine when I can have some one watch my land camera while I on a bug dive at night...Mine are still kicking ass on surf entry's.

    Cheers, Don

  • I am extremely happy with my Speardiver fins. I got these from Dan the day before I did some deep diving. He took some time to get exactly the right fit and stiffness. I really wanted a nice flexible fin and these delivered. They get me off the bottom so much better than my fiberglass fins and at the same time are so much easier to kick.

I did my deepest dive that day. 91 feet at about 1.5 minutes. I got this Gag at 80 feet. Not bad for diving in shallow Rhode Island for the last year.

  • I have a pair of 100's in riffe foot pockets, only used them 2 times, not deep enough dives but this fins are great, fast and I dont have to paddle much, if weather is better this week will dive a little deeper to test them more, but in general very happy with my fins.:thumbsup2::thumbsup2:

  • You can't really tell, but I'm on the right here using the C90's in H Dessault footpockets. I was the safety diver for this particular dive, during the FII Level 2 course in Pompano Beach last month. I'm also using a Speardiver 3mm Bluewater wetsuit here.

  • MED C90 blades in Beuchat FPs....:thumbsup2: Its cold as hell right now so it may be a bit before i test them on some deep stuff. I tested them in the canal today and they motored me around in a 3.5mm wetsuit without any weight quite well.

  • I am finally able to post a brief report on the blades. I purchased them about a year ago but was not able to use them until this past month (Puerto Rico and south Florida). I've owned multiple carbon fins in the past from different manufacturers. I've always used medium stiffness blades to help me stay on top of spots when diving in areas with strong currents. So when Dan suggested I use soft blades I was VERY skeptical but I went with his advice on both blades and footpockets (pathos). No that I have finally used the fins I can say that it is the perfect combination for me. The fins are very reactive on both bottom and surface. They are so light I can dive all day without getting cramps or tiring eventhough its been 11 months since the last time I dove. I can't say it enough, GREAT FINS add to that the Pathos footpockets and you have the ideal setup. Thank you Speardiver!!!!!!!!

  • Ive had a pair of C90's Mediums in Omer millennium foot pockets for a number of months now.

I don't have a ton to compare to (cressi gara 3000's). But I am absolutely in love with these fins.

Ive been diving hard with these things spearfishing and lobstering every chance I get and they have been nothing but amazing.

I liked the pathos foot pockets, but couldn't find a pair that fit well. These Omer Millenniums on the other hand fit exceptionally well and I am very satisfied. I can dive in these things for a weekend and feel great.

They definitely require socks in my opinion. The foot pocket material is very soft, but its texture is abrasive to skin.

  • Finally tried the C90s with Omer pockets yesterday. I am usually skeptical about believing the hype when people say, "I LOVE these fins....they make such a difference"....blah blah blah.

But I have to say I saw improvement in the number of kicks it took to get down and up. Even Duquesnay, my 72 year old dive buddy who has a 25 year old hat and only changes his bands after they break tried them and said, "wow, they DO make a difference".

I have to make some adjustments in my socks though. On my other fins I use a thin pair with a wetsuit sleeve to pad the center high point of my feet. But these are much softer and don't need that. I need to pad the lip of the rear of the pocket which rubbed the skin of my Achilles tendon a bit raw. But overall, I'm really stoked. ya man. Except for ONE thing.....I didn't get shit for fish yesterday. haha. Bad vis.....yeah....bad vis.....

  • Those look sweet AL, most will see and feel the performance right a way, but after a while you can adjust your kick cycle to really make them work.

  • Very nice. Welcome to the club! And yeah its really great being in SE FL and having Dan set you up in person.

I like that silver sticker. You are really going to enjoy the fins.

  • Just got my new Speardiver C100's with white logos in the mail today.
Popped the suckers in a pair of omer pockets and installed them with zipties.
Just got back from the pool and holy shit these fins take a dump on everything I have ever had, and I have had more different fins than you would believe. Effortless, smooth power.
I cannot wait to get down to baja on saturday and really put them to the test.
Awesome fins Dan, you outdid yourself!
