Out again with Natedawg tonight from 530-830
Viz was slightly less stellar than yesterday, prob about 20 feet in 45 FSW
Saw a lot of flying fish and ballyhoo again and Nate saw a sailfish over the sand in about 40 somethin feet. Definitely a rare and exciting sight. Saw a lot of 12-14" hogs and if they're left to grow the future might be lookin brightWe got YJ Hog and a nice size Toro between us
Love this evening diving, sunsets and the temperature are great
-
Sailfish was pretty majestic.. haven't seen one in a long, long time. Been seeing a lot more flying fish than normal, I think he may have been feeding on them.
-
Evening dives are the best. Way to go guys!

The fish you called a Toro looks a lot like a glass eyed snapper, any relation?

Same fish, first heard it called a toro and it stuck
-
Fish toro (Catalana. Catalufa) very tasty!
when we want to a joke, you tell her to please you remove flakes
Cuando quieras hacer una broma con el pez toro, le dices a alguien que la escame......
-
In Spanish it's called catalana or catalufa. Vrey good eating pan size fish.
Toro is how they call the trevaille jack in Mexico.

Long needed dive today,, its been over a week!
Out at 3 till 9, Nate showed up around 530 after work
Conditions were pretty alright when i started. 40feet of hazy viz in 45 feet of water. some notable chop
Viz closed out like crazy when a green wall moved in around 6:00
We did okay today, got a nice load of hogs and porgies and grouper
Porgies have fast become one of my favorite fish to hunt -
Very nice.
-
Love it. Nice work guys
-
We see those porgies a lot here too. The ones with the yellow patch on the head?
They're a lot like the snappers. Hard to get close to and really good eating. Small but really good. The Mu in Hawaii is a porgie I believe. That's a prize fish there too.
I'm going to have to make more of an effort on these too. Use a stringer.

yeah half yellow underwater. Ur exactly right hank they keep distance, especially the ones with some size.
I was hoping to see a Mu in Hawaii but very rare from what I hear -

I was hoping to see a Mu in Hawaii but very rare from what I hearI saw them while diving with Daryl. They're really spooky. I'd see them but like....35 plus feet away. Daryl is as stoked to get a 1 lb mu as he is a 50 lb wahoo. A real challenge.

Porgies are very similar to "Doradas" in Spain or "Orate" in Itlay, a very appreciated fish over there.
