sdeisen little fish reports

  • in ann attempt to not bog down the broward beach conditions so much i started a thread.

went out today after school between noon and fourish..
i hit one of my favorite spots,, i can never find it on purpose its always on accident.
its an area somewhere outisde of the second thats much deeper than anything else around (50ish+ feet)and its all sand with a few intermitent rocks. i saw many hogs and reef fish as usual and a very big turtle. i had a really great mutton moment and had a fleeing mutton actually come back to me while i was laying in the sand. he never came close but close enough, i think it was longest shot ive ever made.. mutton was 20inch which is very good for the area.
very beautiful day on the water but not as calm or clear as a couple days ago.

I call these spots "nowhere spots" because they are in the middle of nowhere. No one ever goes to them because it is not near the main ledges. So basically it is undisturbed and can hold some nice fish.

Man, I really know what you´re talking about, is great to go spearfishing after a hard working day!! :toast:

  • To find a nice spot in the middle of nowhere without a gps, try to make a triangle, from your position to a couple of landmarks visible at your position (try to level the up, like a little house in a mount exactly superimposing into a big rock or something) "marcar" :)

  • I like the thread and anticipation of pictures, I count kick cycles and use a compass board at night, and if there is a light on shore that is a bonus.

    Keep it coming.

  • today somewhere in dania 800am to 130pm
ocean was nice and flat the whole day through
the water, though was nasty nasty thick green between the shore and outside of the second reef. paddled out to the third at roughly 60 feet deep. +/- 10 feet on the sand and rock sides of the ledge. thats where things cleared up
ANYWAY saw millions and millions of 10-16 inch hogs which is nice casue that means they ahve a future. also saw a few very nice muttons but they were wise to me. and then the usual small muttons and mangroves and all. highlight of the day i was laying in the sand and i got divebombed by 6 or 7 little tunnys chasing some bait fish. also saw some very good size toros but didnt take any. on the third the viz was roughly 50-60 feet with some haze, anywhere inside of that was total garbage and there were signs on th beach saying "high bacteria levels swimming not recommended.'
anyways a beutiful day in the water hope some others made it out
