Are you going with or without kayaks? I am without.
Without. I'll have my banks board and a lifeguard can if someone needs one
I have a torpedo float so I'm good. PM me the meetup details pls.
I am flagless so I will be following someone
I will hopefully be there w a flag for you
How did the dive go gentlemen?
Fell through. Work and weather turned us away
how do you guys predict current? my cousins and i paddled out to the second reef today but the current was ripping.
what's the best way to predict current?
Mostly I just avoid the full or no moons and it is manageable
plan on yakking it to the third manana. If you know where I dive and have the means to get out there pay me a visit

Even when the current is ripping, it can be fairly maneageable when the tide is at its high or low point.

so should i be checking for high/low tides when i decide i want to kayak out farther than usual?
Alejandro--I would use caution when solo yak freediving in current. An old friend of mine once was solo freediving in 3+mph current, got busy with fish and ended up down current of his boat. He said that he tried for hours to swim back up current to his boat, got too tired an gave up. He spent the night out there and we found him the next day drifting towards Miami from the Keys.:@
I always carry 200f of poly line with a float/dive flag on the end. I tie one ent to the yak and deploy all the line out behind the yak whenever there is lots of current. That way IF I do get down current of my yak I can always swim over to the float line and pull myself back to the the yak.
Hope this helps
Went out today for about an hour with Muckdiver off Lauderdale. Viz was top to bottom at the first reef line without any current. Didn't see any good fish but I got to try out my new Speardiver 120cm gun!!:D
