Me and Scott went out to the 3rd reef to try to find fish and viz. No fish:(
The viz out there was 40f in 50fsw but we saw no fish and came in to the 1st reef and saw no fish:(
Neither of us pulled the trigger all day:(
Nice yak day but the viz and the fish did not cooperate.
Maybe the viz will be better tomorrow:)
My yak and my ribs both worked ok today:)

Weather permitting I'll be in the water early tomorrow [Fri.13th:0] but have to quit spearin at noon because of work. Scott is going out later or so and we'll work it out later today.
Weather is forecast to be very good tomorrow. I'm glad winter is over:D

Me and TurboRon started at 0830 and had poor viz and saw no fish in 20fsw.
The viz was much better near the pier and South.
We met dino/Scott/LunkerBuster as we were coming in they were just going out so hopefully they got some fish. It was a beautiful yak spearin day with flat water, blue sky and lots and lots of beach buns:D

Today looked perfect until I got in and the viz was 25f in 25fsw:(
I swam from 0930 til 2;30 pm and I only got 1 14in spade, 1 14in trigger and
1 25in Mac.
The Mac was so far away by the time I got him in my sights I was amazed I even hit him
and my RA slip tube saved me from loosing that Mac.

beach yak spearos--
We are meeting at Vista park tomorrow [2-15-9] at aprox 0800am.
Some spearos are getting there a little later and I will post our dive plan in the usual spot
So far there are 4-6 spearos.

pargo---you are correct. 25f viz is good, but as you know, on the close shallow reef a spearo can go for miles before seeing a good fish. So from the surface if you can just bairly see the reef bottom we fail to see many fish unless the viz is much better than the water depth. In 25fsw good viz would be 30+f, and in 15fsw good viz would be 20f and so on. The problem with hunting shallow is that most of the times the shallow water is cloeest to shore and gets hunted a lot more. So the further out from shore generally the more fish, at least along shore in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. The ideal for me and my yak would be a reef 15fsw 1 1/2 mile from shore. That would be too far for many beach/float spearos to swim out to and there should be less beach hunting pressure and generally the viz improves the further off shore you go. So most of my posts I'm out there chasing viz. I'll go out further as long as I can see the bottom well.

Core--when you come down this way there are many of us to help you out. We have extra gear, yaks, floats, etc.
And like pargo said, you do not need a yak to get fish here from shore.

Spearos Scott, dino, Lunkerbuster, flamencoguro, seguyette and buddy were there
Great day for yak spearin. I got; 4 spade, 1 mutton, 1 trigger, 2 cero macks and 1 hog:)
Had a 6f Bull come to check out the blood and guts in the water:D
seguyette and his buddy had a near miss by a speed boat that never slowed down:0
Hopefully the other speasros will post also

tried to go deeper today but the seas got to high out there and I could not see bottom in 50fsw
swam all the way in chasing viz until I ended up at the 1st reef and could just barely see the 15ft reef top
