Just wanted to say

    Thank you guys for the good vibes you bring to the forum, and your willingness to help each other. It's good to know I can always come here.


    And no I'm not having an epiphany, I was just feeling it and wanted to say so for once.

    That made me feel good that you appreciate the good thing you have seeded here. I really feel you guys are like friends. I was a guy that pretty much kept to my self except face to face or on the phone with my friends.
    I have learned a lot about community and kindness here. Thank's back at you Dan, your vision for a place like
    ''Cheers''..... where every body knows your name.

    Thank you Dan. This is a great place to be and you don't feel like you have to scape the crap off your shoe after you've been here like other places. Thanks again for running such a fine forum.

    I have never been a part of any forum or even face book. I have looked at other forums and I see allot of elitism. Especially towards guys who may not know about all the gear.


    I got in to archery a few years back, guys at archery shops have that same since of elitism. If you don’t know about or have the hottest setup they just turn their nose at you and even tell you how shitty your gear is, no matter how much you like the sport.


    I have seen the same enthusiasm on speardiver for the guy who shot a 14 " snapper with a pole spear as a guy achieving his lifelong spear fishing goal.
    This place really is cool.

    Seriously thanks Dan. You know I love it here and I consider it my home and my community, granted a digital one, but the knowledge and friendships are very real.


    My girl makes fun of me when I refer to any of you as my friends, like ill say, my buddy in Belize did this or a friend from Cali did that. She, and many people, don't realize that in this shrinking world, online communities are fundamental.

    I am excited too, Judah. My fondest memories are of diving early on those lower 40's mornings when I could wear my wetsuit on the ride to the beach.


    And as for this thread, this forum is a great place and so much of any knowledge I've accumulated stems from here. Furthermore, I hate diving with most people, and the fact that there are some people here who I actually ENJOY diving with is really a testament to the caliber of folks around here (or that I'm not a very congenial person :D ) Dan has done us all a great service here and moreover he has been a great friend to me. And Judah who's yak I had for about a year and a half too long ;) ) and Hau of course who really was a mentor to me and is the only person I know who dove so often he could fall asleep face down in the ocean and Nate who's been a great dive partner and friend. and all the awesome contributions by monster slayer and Don paul and everyone else.. okay this is sappy and Im done.:toast:
