sea sniper euro report

  • ok so i bought this gun from chris at the fred hall show and am mesmorized by the craftsmanship that went into it. the red baulu accents the mohagany very well. as for the shooting it is by far the best euro i have ever shot. i have shot rob alleys and makos(the worst gun ever) marc valentin and some others. it tracks amazing and is an absolute laser. i can string a 20 lb sheepshead from 10 feet and it has zero recoil. by far my favorite part of the gun is the handle, it is shaped so well to fit the human form. i would highly recomend this gun to everyone!!!

  • It is a nice gun, but I don't see the point of a wooden gun so short. For a 90 cm IMO a Cressi Comanche, Marc Valentin or any alluminum speargun is more than enough.

what happened to sea-snipper innovation? looks like a abellan imitation to me.

  • Beautiful gun mate, thanks for the review. I saw one at the Neptune auction last week, and it was very well built and detailed.

  • Glad you are liking it. I'd love to shoot one. I got to talk to Chris in detail about these guns at Fred Hall. He was so kind to share his thought process of the design. You will notice the butt is injection molded plastic, which means he plans to sell a ton of them. And I like his use of hand formed sheet metal with the wood barrel.

I don't agree on the handle shape though, I'd have to remove some of the sharp corners and flat faces.

    Enjoy!

  • I don't understand the loading butt. It looks like hard plastic, so it wouldn't make loading any more comfortable than just leaving a wood butt. Maybe I'm missing something. Thanks for the pics fishy killa, and nice hali. Don't know if Rob Alleys was purposeful or not but it sounds catchy.

Nope just me being lazy and not checking my spelling, but yes the loading pad is a little uncomfortable. It isnt hard plastic but similar to the riffe loading pad in texture not size. I would actually like to replace it does anybody have any good ideas of ho to do so?

  • maybe just find some thick rubber and glue it to the end of the loading but. Scuff the butt with sand paper and find a good glue (not my area of expertise). Even the sole of an old flipflop might work. If it somes off eventually just do it again.
