Maybe we better make sure that the ETPGB that you have now doesn't fall apart after a little while in saltwater.
I need for you to mak a personal sacrifice, and dive as often as you can. For testing purposes . . . :rolleyes1:
This is an evaluation update of my Tin Man / Hau Enclosed Track Pipe Gun (ETPG)
As Tin Man has posted above, I have been making "personal sacrifice" dives "make sure that the ETPG dosen't fall apart after a little while in the saltwater"
To date, 2-24-10:
1. I have been IN THE WATER for 107 hours with my ETPG.
2. Shot 34 hogs, 8 dog snappers, 10 progey, 7 schoolmasters, 11 muttons and bags of reef fish
3. Poked several sharks and eels with the spear in the gun
4. Poked several sharks and eels with the kill spike.
5. Shot fish so far away that I was in total amazement that I hit the fish:@
6. Shot fish back in holes where half of the spear was still in the track. :@This is the best speargun I have ever owned in 35 yrs of spearing. :thumbsup2:
:hail1: Thank you Tin Man :hail1:
Thank you to all the other spearos here that contributed to this projectI will continue making personal sacrificial dives to continue field testing my ETPG :thumbsup2:

I stopped following this thread for a little while but WOW. The finish product looks really amazing. Tin Man is quite an artist.

I don't at this time. I have shafts with mini tabs like pictured below but not full size tabs which is what you need. I am working on getting a source for the full size tab shafts.
Who makes these shafts, thickness and how much are they?
-
Adrian, very little markup for me on these shafts.
7mm
AISI 630 Stainless steel
Tri cut tip.
3" Single flopper on the bottom.
3 mini tabs, one being a rest tab (can be used to keep one band out of the way when not loaded/powered down).
Price:
150cm $64
160cm $66
170cm $71
180cm $73
190cm $75 -
I understand Dan. I still believe they have a cool looking tabs.
-
Don't they do 7.5 mm?
-
WOW:thumbsup2:
I feel like a new DADDY:thumbsup2:
Even though all I did was come up with the idea of an Enclosed Track Pipe Gun. (ETPG):idea2:
Tin Man did ALL the real work:notworthy1:
Thank you Jeff -

I know that Hau is a great guy, and doesn't intend to cause issues here, but there are those who are making it look like we stole this design from him. To be clear, Jeff and I have had this gun in finished prototype form since January of 2009. Wolf, Roberto Reyes and a few others got sneak peeks of it at last year's Blue Wild Expo (with slightly different geometry to fit a different muzzle and handle and with a different brand name).
We approached Dago about possibly machining the barrel in December of 2008.
Our talks with the other company fell through in March 2009, at which point we started talking with Mako about bringing the design to market.
It might not matter to most people, but it is important to us that people not think we took this design from Hau.
-
It doesn't seem like Hau has any issues with who takes credit for this anyways so why are you even defending yourself at this point? Were there any patents pending approval or even a verbal agreement of design ownership between you guys?
