Broward Shore Dive

  • Spent the last few days with my family at the beach in north Broward. Most of my time was spent playing dad except for a quick shore dive I was able to make during one of my three day stay. I always follow all the reports of guys on here swimming or paddeling off shore as it reminds me of when I regularly did it nearly ten years ago. In any event, I ventured out not expecting much, but managed a decent assorted catch. Viz was very good on the first reef and a bit hazy on the second with tons of jelllyfish. Also saw a few big Ceros cruise by, but did not allow me a shot. It was fun to get out, exercise and come back with a few spoils of my labor. I wish I was able to do these shoredives up this way, but the conditions are just not that practical. A few pics....

  • Nice to go back to the basics to keep it real, I'm planning on scratching up my fins this winter shore diving more.

    Nice eats there bro.:thumbsup2:

  • well done...how do you hold the bugs while you are out there? is there a catch bag attached?

btw that is a really big mutt for the first reef, you must have done a real nice asspetto to trick him into coming in...nice

    i like to spear fish

  • Thanks. I was actually walking over to my son who had a buggie board I was going to use. It has a net sitting atop of it. I was a bit surprised to see the mutton, I actually speared it in the sand between reefs.

very nice...i have had some many missed encounters w hogs and mutts and I move over that sand in between the reefs...I am always looking because that is where they hang but they are so well camo'ed that at best you see a ghost...I love dropping down on the sand and seeing nothing and after a very short aspetto, like 10-25 seconds, watching the fish reappear...damn ninja's

    very nice mutt

  • Nice work!!

Alan and myself were out there last week (brought in lobster, jacks, macks, and porgie).. We ran into the same school of jelly fish on the second reef. They were everywhere.
