Belizean diving.....I had fun just diving. Warm water, weighted just right. I was getting 1'45" laying on the bottom. Now I just have to get Marco to show me how to do those 110 foot dives.....:)
If you see my videos, It takes 1'30" - 1'40" to dive 100'. Just be water my friend!
I'm glad you had fun.
I've been waiting for this for almost 3 months. This is the supply canal for the shrimp farm and it's where I launch my boat. But, it does fill in and needs dredged once a year or so. It's been three years. We had to get out and push the boat the last times we went and the mud was waist deep. But now…..yah man….the fish are nervous. We're out there.
:thumbsup2:
[emoji106] most excellent!
Finally a clean canal and this comes in. God must be telling me to give the fish a break?
Yep. Had a fun day. "Dukes", Jake Mo and i hit a few spots.
Once again, learned another thing....Jake was pulling the big cubera up. Haven't weighed it yet but looks like 25 lbs or so. I was right above Jake as he was coming up but I was watching the big snappers underneath him. Then I saw he was about 5 feet from the surface but not coming up. He was kicking....but the fish was hit behind he dorsal and was still strong. His reel had jammed and wasn't letting out line.
I just didn't think fast enough....why didn't I immediately drop down and shoot it again. In a few seconds Jake made it to the surface. But looking back I think,,,,"you moron....", I should have reacted faster.
Anyway....another lesson learned. Both Jake and I were really relaxed and diving. He was getting 80 plus feet for 1 min 45 sec. I was hitting 70 for 1 min 20. Beautiful day. Had a school of about 500 permit around us most of the time. We don't shoot them. Dog snapper cubera, a few muttons down deep, 6-8 king fish passed by. a few ceros. spade fish, some black grouper on the bottom. It doesn't get any better.

Jake....pondering the moment? haha.
Wow nice catch.
You guys get some SOLID fish!
Great to see smiling faces and big fish!:thumbsup2:
Sweet! Nice sized fish!
The two legends, as always...amazing fellah's!
I love when you guys post. It's always big fishes! and usually quite a few of them. it usually triggers the itch and I end up searching for new spearfishing videos on youtube....
Nice haul
Nice snappers!! again!
Just be water my friend!
I've heard someone saying that before!
Be Water My Friend - Bruce Lee - YouTube
Sorry for the derail but I had to post it!
Im glad Bruce Lee didn't spearfish.
Yep. Big holiday in Belize. The Battle of St George's Caye. So we took off work and had a great time.
Doc, Mo, Jake and I. Doc got this eel. He has some Taiwanese friend here who consider it a delicacy. i'd be afraid to shoot it. Doc said it was chewing on the shaft. haha.
I got three muttons and two cuberas. Jake got the rest. He had to do three 75 foot dives to retrieve a dog snapper. Those things hole up right away if you don't stone them. He ended up cutting his shooting line after a failed attempt to untangle it.
Looks like you guys had a productive day! Is that a moray eel?
Yep. Green ones that are common here.
