A couple fish.

  • Well I didn't know if posting these pictures or not, but here we go...

All legal sized, legally speared fish. 50 to 80 feet of water, 120 feet of visibiliy, very low current but very hard sea conditions; windy and shacky...

Someone in the group got seasick (badly) and wasn't me... :rolleyes1:

I know how to read it but surfing and spearfishing are different things you can surf in the most crappy or the baddest hazard weather. for spearfishing got to be perfect if yoU know how to read it you will got that viz you have these days.perfect conditions...THATS WHAT I FU*%$ WANT!!!!!!...haha..the puerto rico section its whats keep me going on diving and entering this forum besides all the help spearos give me here honestly.!!..but like you said here we got viz some times you cant even dive..

  • Great fish Marco, looks kike a fun crew. I love eating snapper:laughing3:.
I doing some tweak's to the fart gun, before I bother camo-ing the barrel. The reel is a little flexi at the
mount plate. It loads easy for me at 30 bar.
    Cheers, Don

  • Why not Marco, is there pressure coming from somewhere to stop posting pics? If there's a problem I'd like to know about it.

    And great fish.

Well, I don't know... With all this bannig rumors, maybe is not politically correct to post this kind of pictures with all these fish.

On the other hand, it shows that the fish population is healthy in our waters. I don't know what to think...

Attan: I already show you how to know when the sea is going to be nice and calm.

Visibility is another game; it depends if it rained or not, the currents, and other factors.

Normally we go out several miles and the vis is usually good, but not always. Anyway, you manage to get some fish.

The downside of bad vis is that you can't chum because of the sharks, but on the other hand, fish get closer to check you out giving you a good shot.

In my hometown, I used to dive with bad visibility and also got fish. Is just a matter of being in the water.

The largest fish I got in Puerto Rico, a 64# King Mack, was taken with 15 feet visibility and a 110 single banded Euro gun, so keep trying. ;)

Don: I'm following your fart gun post closely. Hope you like it and catch nice fish. :) However, either in Spain and Italy, some people have developed a system to keep the water out of the gun. This makes them much more powerful and precise.

    Check this out:

    Italy: http://www.stcitalia.net/x-power.html and http://www.pescafacile.com/200…stata-sottovuoto-x-power/

The guy from Spain is my personal friend and I helped him with the translation. I'm attaching his catalog. The better system is the "Tovarich" and was invented in Ukrania many years ago.

Dan: If you want, you can move this to the Pneumatics mod post.

PS: The black spearguns at the bottom don't warp... :D

  • Great catch! :thumbsup2:

I'm a little familiar with the snappers (those muttons are big!), but could use a few captions. :D
Are PR fish generally the same species found in FL?

Generally. But we don't have as many groupers as you have. I/E There are no Gag groupes here. We don't have cobias (or very rare). The water is warmer all year long. probably that's the reason.

Cool. Is the fish on the right in 3rd pic a dog snapper?

(I'm not from FL, so my fish ID skills suck)

  • Hey Marcos, what wood gun is that behind you in the picture with you holding the stringers? Awesome catch by the way.
