yes it was shit on the first and second,, and i think it was runoff from the port being brought on by the strong north to south current,, soo maybe north oof the port was nice everywhere,, but only at the third and deeper did it clear up where i was

I went out as far as 40' today (longass swim from the beach) and I could barely see the bottom, so turned and headed toward shore, water was a milky green, so I tried to stay inside 30' where I could distinguish stuff on the bottom. current and waves were non existent up this way, but water quality was still shit.
-
thanks mike,, guess it wasnt the ports fault then,, maybe just all the rain water getting mixed in.,. i dont know
-
Steven, didnt mean to hijack your thread with my own input just wanted to put the info out there in case anyone in the north broward area was considering it. But yeah I'd say it was the recent storms more-so than the port.

Steven's thread is taking over:fanwave:

got out at 4 pm to 630 pm in Delray today. i set out to dive in boca near mi casa but didnt find parking until delrey, but it was nice on account of there were no lifegaurds and few ppl where i eventually did end up. paddled out through some nasty green surf and at about 1/3 mile out everything turned crystal clear gulfstream style blue. there was no reef until about 55-60 feet deep and even there it was very flat. Saw nothing but TONS of jacks. it was fun scoping out a new area and it seems to have potential, maybe a litttle deeper out the reef has more structure, ill find out next time. the viz was awesome i could see fish swimming over sand in 60 feet while sitten in my yak, a beautiful day for sure.
hope everyone had a good weekend and got wet -
Good stuff :thumbsup5:

got out today in boca, strange place and couldnt find the reef until it was at least 60 feet deep, and prob 3/4 mile out which was nice but a bitch iin the short yak ,, reef was very nice and water was clear 60+ foot viz, but within 10 min of diving i realized my paddle had fallin out the yak & gone away so i began the swim to shore and arrived right as it was getting dark,,
cant complain i saw many sea turtles and a huge bait ball -
Good luck Rhodyhunter :thumbsup2:
