hi everyone in the forum, my name is Wilfredo Castellanos from Santo Domingo,Dominican Republic (for those that doesnt know is just next to Puerto Rico, just a few miles to the west)Im a student of civil engennering. Im just 21 but i have been fishing since i was a kid and spearfishing for the last couple of years. My natural language is spanish so sorry if i say something wrong, every correction will be accepted.
Here we got a few spots for spearfishing, as spearfishing is not a super popular activity around here a year ago we got places were you can get a 2-15 pounds fish just 15ft(5m) depth but the better place for me and my bro(my partner in crime :)) is Salinas, Bani .. is located in the south of the island, aprox 45 mins from the city(Santo Domingo), this area is famous for having big fishes an due to not be destructed by the turistic business is a very nice spot, take a look at it.
well but the amazing part of living in an island is that i live in the citiy an it would take me no more than 10minutes walking to get to the shore :thumbsup2: so when me and my bro are short of time we get just there, look at a video me make last sunday. im afraid to say that in that moment i was the camera man ( my bro is the one with the blue suit the other one is a good friend of us.

I love the DIY's ... my current gun is a custom made by me .. is something like a mahoganny wood(with a bath of resin, not epoxy i got polyester resin cause around here epoxy practically doesnt exist ) euro with enclosed track. 6mm shaft made by myself and a beuchat arka competition handle(trigger mechanism) as running in low budget most part of the time, i try to figure out what to do and was something like this!
well i found this forums a few days ago and I was like :@ is like getting a 600pounds snapper out of a tiny rock freakin'amazing, is very complete and personally i love it cause there's a large amounts of latinos around, cause im part of spearboard too and there are not too much puerto ricians around there or at least i havent see them.
If somebody around here need something that i could hep in just let me know, so far i help the world killing lion fish
my next DIY project is to paint my wetsuit blue camo, lets see what we get.
if anybody need a spanish english translator I would help you.
Hope we'll have a great time around here!
