Got out for a beach dive today
Got total tunnel vision when I got schooled by some kingies and shot this one went about 25. there were about 10 fish in the school and two of the ****ers looked a bit past the 50lb mark....
Ended the day with a bug and a king, not bad
Oh yeah this was with a single band 90 RA -
I think I speak for all when I say. I hate you and you are a prick

Fantastic !!

This is an awesome thread. That kingy is a great fish mate, congratulations. Just goes to show that a good stalker + a gun you're comfortable using goes a long way. Not many people can say they've taken a fish like that with a 90 RA. That is my favorite gun in my collection by far.

been up in the bay of islands for a few days now, me and my buddy from home have shot a few more kingfish and a handful of snapper.
The snapper are the most challenging fish to hunt I have ever run into, there is no approaching them, you have to completely take them by surprise by peeking out over the tops of ledges or rocks, great fun!
here's a couple of pics -
and Aussie spearo, the 90cm RA might be my favorite gun of all time. I have shot everything with it in USA, Mex and now NZ, another kingy and 5 smapper fell to the 90 alone

You need to see Huka Falls.:D and have a look at Huka Lodge.
Cheers, Don

That is awesome. Snapper are a tough fish to hunt. People in Oz usually recommend a 120 with reel to hunt them because a floatline is enough to spook them. I just like the fact that you have 2 sea snipers with you and you're taking some fantastic fish with a 90. Keep us posted with your adventures.
