Out solo today from 1 to about 4
When I got in it was an absolute lake. As I ventured east some swell built and eventually the winds turned. I could see bottom the entire way our to 55 feet which is a goood feeling. When I got to the actual spot viz was a bit hazier but still great and 0 current which means more to me than good viz.

I messed around in one spot, saw some small and barely legal hogs and muttons then paddled out a bit further east and got on a real sweet area. Lots of 15"+ hogs and life. I ignored the hogs waiting for a monster mutton which did eventually come along, out lasted me and in the end got educated with a failed shot.
I keep getting the slip by big muttons but I am just glad to be seeing them and they are a real impetus to increase breathhold and steady the aim.

I saw a nice size mutton hanging out in the sand the other day but he tore off on a long shot. I used to see a few small ones on every other dive or so...its nice to see the big ones come back like you said.
